I so appropriately label my blog yin and yang for it captures my feelings toward my weekend.
So, Saturday I agree to go with a friend to La Cave du Vin in Coventry for he knew how much I love D'Vine and he thought - worth a shot to see what I think of another wine bar. I admit that the atmosphere was not like that of D'Vine. In Coventry, it is a different group of people and you do not have as much privacy as you do at your table if you were at D'Vine. What I did like about the Coventry bar is the array of options for beer. They had a cooler you just walk up to and you could find beers from around the world as well as your traditional favorites. However, this was the highlight of my evening for my counterpart did not let me get in a word throughout the whole conversation. I thought hmmmmm he really likes the sound of his own voice and his opinions. Needless to say the evening could have been better had I be given a chance to give my opinion. Oh wait, I remember when I did, he rose his voice at me. I thought, "Are you kidding me?" From that moment, I tried to think of a way to escape and get the hell out of Coventry. When I normally rely on seeing people from JCU in Coventry - that night I was not so lucky. No rescue. I even thought - who can I call to come pick me up. It was that bad.
Then, on the flip side, I went to the Rocky River Brewing Co. with Dave, Christine and Suzanne Sunday night. From 630-1130pm, we talked, we laughed, we debated, we spoke on every single topic and no topic was left unmentioned. I had the BEST time. Sure, I am biased for I had not seen all three of them in a LONG LONG time and Christine and Dave are among my core friends from JCU. With them, I am 110% myself. They know me - they know what makes me laugh and they know what makes me tick. Suzanne is immediately becoming a favorite of ours as she is so honest with us and with herself. I respect all the opinions I heard that night and it was just one of those nights that left us all with huge grins on our faces as we all drove home. I am lucky to see 2 out of the 3 next weekend - most likely.
Finally, I am thinking about Danny's halloween party in 2 weekends. Last year I went with Capezzuto. He went as a mafia man and I went as a 20s flapper girl. This year I am going in the same costume but thinking of how I can freshen it up a bit. It will be a BLAST just like last year and I cannot WAIT to see Danny. We live 20 minutes from each other and I have not seen him since February I think. He is the happiest person I have ever met for he is content with who he is and doesn't pretend to be someone he is not.
Back to the Hills on MTV :)
